Hi @Tami6991,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP ENVY 5660 is having trouble with both alignment and printing. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and resolve these issues.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed. If any cartridge is low or empty, replace it with a new one.
  • Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure they're seated correctly.

Printer Alignment:

  • If the printer isn't aligning, try manually aligning it:
    1. Go to the printer's control panel.
    2. Open the "Setup" menu and choose "Tools."
    3. Select "Align Printer."
  • You can also perform an alignment via the HP software on your computer:
    • Open the HP Printer Assistant (or HP Smart app).
    • Choose Maintain Your Printer, then select Align Printer.

Check Print Quality:

  • Run a print quality diagnostic test to check for any issues with the printhead or ink cartridges:
    1. From the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Printer Maintenance.
    2. Select Print Quality Report.
    3. If any colors are missing or streaked, clean the printhead:
      • In the Printer Maintenance menu, choose Clean Printhead.

Software & Drivers:

  • Ensure the latest drivers and software for your printer are installed. You can download them from HP's website.
  • If the printer is connected to your computer, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP software.

Reset the Printer:

  • A factory reset can sometimes resolve misalignment and printing issues. To reset your printer:
    1. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    3. Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
