Can't replace Ink cartridge as carriage won't move into place on HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 after opening the door to access cartridges. How do I get the carriage to move into place.

I had the same issue with my HP OfficeJet Pro 9018. My carriage would not move to the access window. Even when I pushed the replace button on the screen.
*I don't suggest you do this workaround unless all other options haven't worked for you.*
I unplugged my printer for 60 seconds
While the printer was off I opened the access panel then opened the top.
I then reached in and pushed in the cyan cartridge to disengage it from the print carriage.
Plugged the printer back in.
Waited for the carriage to get to the carriage access window.
Unplugged the printer again
Replaced the ink cartridges that needed to be replaced.
The printer thanked me for using HP cartridges. Complained of an incorrect shutdown procedure. But I'm able to print again.
Good luck!

I had the same issue where the carriage would not move into place to change ink cartridges. The "replace" button would click but do nothing. I solved the issue by doing a "cold reset" on the printer. Cold reset can be found in the printer settings.
