Cannot Clear E0 Error Message on HP Desk Jet 2842e Printer.  Have tried all suggested fixes.  Have been trying for 4 hours now.

Thank you for posting your query.

 

I hear how exhausting this must feel — spending four hours trying every suggested fixes and still the issue persist with your Error code. There is a problem with the cartridge indicated by the blinking Ink Level icon.
I would request you to please follow the steps:

 

Reset the Printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  • If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  • Wait 60 seconds.

  • Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.

  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest firmware update.
  • Firmware updates often fix recognition issues with new cartridges.
