Hi@oger157,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP OfficeJet 4650 All-In-One Printer cannot print in color.

Kindly try the below steps that should resolve the issue..
goto Control Panel > Devices and Printer > Add a Printer.
in the window displayed, select "Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname" and then click NEXT
Select "Create a new port - "Standard TCP/IP port" and then click NEXT
Now type in the printer's IP address under "Hostname or IP address" box, then click on the NEXT button. "Detecting TCP/IP" would start.
After which click the NEXT button and then in the next window under "Manufacturer" select HP, and then from right pane, select "HP Officejet 4650" and click NEXT.
And then follow the on screen instructions to complete the process.
Now open the document you want to print, under PRINT dropdown select the printer that was installed using the above steps. And now click the PRINT button to start to print.

The HP Print and Scan Doctor does resolve this problem too

Adding an alternate driver may resolve the issue. Here is how to do it:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Control panel, click Devices and Printers

2.) In the Devices and Printers folder right click on your HP Officejet 4650 and left click on Printer Properties.

3.) Left click on the Advanced tab

4.) Left click on New Driver

5.) When the New Driver window opens just hit 'next' until you see a list of Manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.

6.) Select HP as the Manufacturer on the left

7.) Select HP Envy 7640 as the printer on the right. If HP Envy 7640 doesn't appear than select 'Windows Update' on the bottom left and once the update completes you will be able to select HP Envy 4500.

8.) After selecting HP Envy 7640 hit next to complete the New Driver Wizard.

9.) Under the Printer Properties window select 'Apply' but don't hit OK

10.) Select the General tab

11.) Rename your printer back to HP Officejet 4650.

12.) Hit OK.

I tried replacing the print driver, and at first HP Envy 7640 did not appear on the list [and only "Generic" Microsoft" and "HP" was on the Manufacturers list], so I chose Windows Update. It took an inordinate amount of time to complete, so I ended the application by quitting Control Panel. Eventually I saw HP Envy 7640 on the list, and the Wizard finished.

This not only solved the color printing issue but also automatic two-sided printing works as well. Success! And I do not get a Protection Fault warning in Windows whenever I chose Printing Preferences. Dilip, you are a genius!!
