I was told that support would contact me. Imagine that, HP support doesn't follow through- I wonder what they do do, besides belittle their customers. This printer is straight from; it's been replaced once. I am at the end of my rope.

Hi @Meira2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I’m truly sorry to hear about the ongoing trouble printing PDFs and the frustration you’ve experienced, especially after already having your printer replaced. I completely understand how discouraging that must feel, and I want to personally make sure we help you get this resolved as quickly as possible.

Let’s go step-by-step to address the PDF printing issue, as it can often be caused by a simple software or driver setting:

Step 1 – Confirm Printer Functionality

First, please make sure your printer can print other types of files (for example, a Word document or a test page).

  • If it prints other files correctly, the issue is likely with the PDF software or settings.
  • If it cannot print anything, we’ll recheck the connection or driver setup in Step 3.

Step 2 – Try a Different PDF Viewer

Sometimes, the built-in PDF viewer or browser can cause print errors.

  1. Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (free) from Adobe reader
  2. Open your PDF in Adobe Reader.
  3. Go to File → Print → Advanced, and check “Print as Image.”
  4. Click OK, then Print.

If the PDF prints correctly after that, the problem was with the original viewing software or the rendering settings.

Step 3 – Check Your Printer Setup

  1. Make sure the printer is set as the default in Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click your printer → Manage → Printer Properties → Print Test Page.
  3. If the test page fails, reinstall your printer driver:
    • Go to HP Support Drivers.
    • Enter your printer model and install the Full Feature Software and Driver for your operating system.

Step 4 – Restart the Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.
  3. Try printing your PDF again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
