Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
If you’re getting a "Cartridge Problem" message on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 even after replacing the cartridges, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove each cartridge and reinsert them, ensuring they click into place properly.
Inspect for Protective Tape: Verify that any protective tape on the new cartridges has been fully removed. Sometimes, a small piece of tape can cause issues.
Clean the Contacts: Gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. Dust or residue can interfere with the connection.
Reset the Printer: Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for about a minute, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
Update Printer Firmware: Check for any available firmware updates for your printer on the HP website. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues with cartridges.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges: Ensure that the cartridges you are using are genuine HP products, as third-party cartridges can sometimes lead to compatibility issues.
Check for Error Messages: Look for any other error messages on the printer display that may give clues about the issue.
Try Different Cartridges: If possible, try using different cartridges (if you have spare ones) to see if the problem persists. This can help determine if the issue lies with the cartridges themselves.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
