The ink cartridge is brand new, I just received it from the mail yesterday and despite putting it in correctly, it being the correct ink cartridge, the driver firmware is updated, the lap top i am connected wirelessly to is updated after restarting, I can't figure out why it continues to say "Until cartridges are installed, make sure printer is turned on to avoid damage, to the printer, One or more cartridges are missing or damaged. " at the top of the display screen it says "Cartridge Problem" Please help!!

Hi @Fritomeg

Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing cartridge issues with your HP printer.

Please follow the steps listed below to clean the electrical contacts of the cartridges.
1. Open the door to access the cartridges.
2. Wait until the carriage stops moving before you continue.
3. Push the tab on the cartridge indicated by the error message, and then pull the cartridge from its slot.
CAUTION: Clean the cartridges one at a time. Do not leave a cartridge outside of the printer for more than 30 minutes.
4. Wipe the copper-colored contact on the cartridge with a lint-free cloth.
5. Place the cartridge to the side, with the contacts facing upwards.
6. Wipe the contacts inside the printhead with a lint-free cloth.
7. Insert the cartridge into its slot, and then press down on the cartridge until it snaps into place.
8. Repeat these steps for any other cartridges indicated in the error message.
9. Close the front door and cartridge access door.
