@BYP1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Cartridge Errors in HP Officejet Pro 8600!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you are experiencing cartridge problems with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer even after replacing the cartridges and cleaning the printheads, there are a few additional steps you can follow to potentially resolve the issue:
Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure that the cartridges you have replaced are compatible with your printer model. The HP Officejet Pro 8600 uses the HP 950XL Black and HP 951XL Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow cartridges.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait about 30 seconds and then reconnect the power cord.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.
Update or Reinstall Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Visit HP's software and drivers website to download the latest firmware updates for your printer model.
- Follow the instructions to update the printer firmware.
Cartridge Contact Cleaning:
- Ensure that the contacts on the printer and the cartridges are clean and free of any debris.
- Use a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water to gently wipe the copper-colored contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer.
Reset Ink System:
- You can try resetting the ink system by following this procedure:
- Remove all the cartridges from the printer.
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Wait about 30 seconds and then reconnect the power cord.
- Turn the printer back on without reinstalling the cartridges.
- Wait until the printer prompts you to install the cartridges, and then reinstall them.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
