HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

Hello,

I have an issue with my printer when I tried to insert new 950 cartridges bought from hp store in officejet pro 8600 (serial number [Personal Information Removed], product number CM749A). The error message "incomptabile ink cartridge" (the exact error message is in french "Ces cartouches ne sont pas destinées à être utilisées avec cette imprimante). The message indicates that the four cartridges are concerned.

I called the support (reference of the suport file [Personal Information Removed]"), and they sent me a new set of cartridges, but I have the same error message when I insert these new cartridges. So, new call to the hp support, and they said me that there is an issue with the printhead, I have to change my printer... I really don't believe in this solution, as the message disappear when I insert back my new cartridges. And I had not any printing issue before replacing them as they are empty. I said to the support that it can be a regionalisation issue, and I asked to get a level 2 support, but they refused, and said they will give me the same answer, change your printer...

This is why I assume there is a regionalisation issue : I  noticed that it is written "z40 For use only in asia Pacific" on the previous cartridges (which worked well but are empty), while the new cartridges (I purchased from hp store and the new one sent by the support) contains the "z20 For use only in Europe, Russia, CIS, Middle East and Africa" indication.

References on my old cartridges are CN045AA, CN048AA, CN046AA, CN047A (no zone restriction written on this last one)

The ones purchased at hp store : CN049AE, CN051AE, CN050AE, CN052AE

The ones sent by the support: CN045AE, CN046AE, CN047AE, CN048AE.

I read on this forum that you can send in private message the instruction to reset the regionalisation. Please, could you confirm that it is the correct issue and send me theses instructions.

Thank you for your reply,

Best regards,

Olivier

Hi @NemoFr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you moved, and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Yes" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping
