HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer

I'm stuck in an endless loop of cartridge  error and can't  I get  new cartridge unless  i clean the cartridge but can't do that because of the error.  So i have no useable ink but guess what???? HP is still  taking my money monthly. This happened several months ago as well.

I have always had issues with their printers but stick with them as we have HP computers and don't want to risk more communication  errors.

This is a new replacement printer after the last one had the infamous  blue ink malfunction error.

So aside from dropping it  out a window....any suggestions?

Hi @acm52

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

t sounds like you're dealing with a cartridge communication error that’s frustrating, especially since you’ve already replaced the printer. I totally get how this situation can be super aggravating, especially with the added frustration of still being charged for ink you can’t use! Let’s try to break this down and see if we can get you past that error without throwing the printer out the window (though I can imagine that might feel tempting).

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that might help:

1. Reset the Printer

Sometimes, just doing a hard reset can resolve communication issues:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait about 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.
  4. If the error persists, try restarting your computer as well and reconnect the printer.

2. Reinstall or Reseat the Ink Cartridges

The error can often be caused by a poor connection between the ink cartridges and the printer.

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.
  3. Clean the contacts on the cartridges with a soft, lint-free cloth (avoid touching the copper contacts with your fingers).
  4. Reseat the cartridges back into the printer, making sure they click into place securely.
  5. Close the access door, plug the printer back in, and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
