Hello,

 

my printer is HP deskjet, I have been using this for a few years. I was about to print something but on the HP smart app it now says “HP Instant Ink Cartridge: Enrol now. The indicated cartridge cannot be used until the printer is enrolled in HP INSTANT Ink.” I have never used the instant ink before, I always buy my own, so I am a bit confused. I never had this problem before. 

Do u I HAVE to sign up for the service? Could someone help?

They are trying to sell you that service!  I get it with my OJ Pro 9025e printer and the printer utility. I just ignore it and put in the needed cartridge!

I forget if there's a "don't show me this again" or if you just put up with it, open the printer and change the cartridge ..... but I don't do that right away since there is a lot of usable ink left in them.

No, you need to enroll the printer in Instant Ink if you don't want to. You will have an option to skip it.

 

Make sure you are not trying to use Instant Ink cartridges.

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - 'Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink' Message

Re-install the ink cartridges.
