My ink cartridges are not communicating with my printer. I’m signed up for instant ink so I was sent these. I’ve updated the firmware, everything I’ve been prompted to do and I’m getting nowhere. The ink light blinks continuously, I’m still getting charged each month and they HAVE to know my printers not functioning due to cartridge error. Idk what else to do! Why do they not have a customer service #? I keep getting sent to Instant Ink & it asks am I missing ink etc. I’m going in circles and getting very aggravated.

I understand how frustrating this situation can be! If your HP DeskJet 2722 is not recognizing the ink cartridges, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and then reseat them, making sure they click into place.
2. Inspect the Cartridges:
- Check for any protective tape or packaging that may not have been removed from the cartridges. Also, look for any visible damage or ink clogs.
3. Clean the Contacts:
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and the printer’s cartridge slot. Let them dry completely before reinstalling.
4. Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset any temporary errors.
5. Update HP Smart App:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app on your device, as it can provide troubleshooting tools and help manage your Instant Ink settings.
6. Check Instant Ink Settings:
- Log into your HP Instant Ink account and verify that your printer is correctly registered and that there are no alerts or notifications related to your account.
7. Use Different Cartridges:
- If possible, try installing a different set of cartridges to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the cartridges or the printer itself.
