Inserted new black ink  cartridge into printer. Message tells me the indicated cartridge is communicating correctly with the printer. If the problem persists replace the cartridge. I tried to clean the copper surface sensors twice but that did not work.

My printer is an HP ENVY Photo 7855 with Serial No. TH0BUFW0DW.  The Cartridge message says 'The indicated cartridge (black) is not communicating correctly with the printer. If this problem persists replace the cartridge.' I tried the trouble shooting effort of using a distilled water on a Q-tip twice to try to clean. It did not work. What other method should I use to restore the use of the $20 printer ink?

I understand that you are facing issues with the cartridge error. 

 

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

 

If you have performed all the steps from this document and still having issues, either the cartridges are faulty or the printer needs service. 

 

Update the firmware/drivers: Click here to select your current OS.
