Hi @San981667755555,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is displaying a "Cartridge Communication Error", it usually means the printer is having trouble reading or recognizing one or more of the ink cartridges. Here's how to troubleshoot it:

Step 1: Use Genuine HP Cartridges

  • Make sure you're using genuine HP cartridges.
  • Third-party or refilled cartridges can cause communication issues.

Step 2: Remove and Reinsert the Cartridges

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  3. Remove all cartridges.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Reinsert each cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.

Step 3: Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Remove the cartridges.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  4. Gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer.
  5. Let dry for 10 minutes, then reinstall.

Step 4: Update Printer Firmware

Step 5: Reset the Printer

  1. With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn the printer on.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
