Hi @RaneyDayService,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering the "the indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer" error on your HP ENVY Inspire 7200, despite having tried new HP cartridges, cleaning the contacts, and performing a hard reset. Here are several steps you can follow to try to resolve the issue:

Verify Cartridge Compatibility

  • Confirm that the new cartridges are compatible with your specific printer model and region. Use genuine HP cartridges designed for the HP ENVY Inspire 7200 series to ensure compatibility.

Reinstall the Cartridges

  • Remove the cartridges and reinsert them securely. Make sure each cartridge clicks into place firmly, and the tab is properly seated.

Clean the Contacts Again

  • Double-check that the electrical contacts, both on the cartridge and inside the printer, are clean and free from any debris or ink. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean these contacts.

Check for Obstructions

  • Open the printer and check for any obstructions or residual packing materials inside the cartridge carriage area that might hinder communication.

Try Different Cartridges

  • If possible, try using another set of new HP cartridges to rule out the possibility of faulty cartridges.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I've done ALL of these troubleshooting steps with no positive results.  This has been an issue with HP inkjet printers for years. Brother doesn't have this problem. Nor does Epson, Canon. Money was spent a couple of months ago for this new printer plus money to try different cartridges.
