Hi @Cavilas,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When a printer behaves as you've described—making noise and showing a message that it's printing a document when no document has been sent—it might be experiencing one of several issues. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Check for Stuck Print Jobs: Sometimes, a document might get stuck in the print queue, causing the printer to attempt to print it repeatedly. You can check this by opening the print queue on your computer (usually accessible by clicking the printer icon in the system tray or through the Control Panel/Settings app under Devices and Printers) and clearing any pending jobs.

Restart the Printer: Simply turning the printer off and on again can resolve many issues. This can help to clear any errors or stuck processes in the printer's memory.

Check for Hardware Issues: The noise you're hearing might be due to a mechanical problem inside the printer. Open the printer and check for any obvious issues like jammed paper, loose components, or anything else that seems out of place. Be sure to turn off the printer and unplug it before doing this.

Firmware or Software Update: The printer's firmware or your computer's printer driver might be outdated and causing communication issues. Visit the manufacturer's website to check for and install any updates.

Check Connectivity: If your printer is connected via Wi-Fi or network cable, ensure that the connection is stable. You might want to try printing from a different device or reconnecting your printer to the network.

Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, consider doing a factory reset of the printer. This will return it to its original settings, potentially resolving any software-related issues. Be aware that this will erase all settings, so you'll need to set up your printer again from scratch.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
