It says remove and install indicated cartridge - I have done several times...they are new and installed properly, how do I get this to work?

Im having a similar issue where the cartridge isnt working.
Have you downloaded the HP smart app? It should give you an indicator to the precise problem, mine says "The indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer" 

It advises to remove the cartridge and clean it along with the heads, its worth using a soft cloth to clean both the metal pinpoints that connect to the cartridge in both the printer and on the cartridge with some contact cleaner, power the printer off for 60 seconds having removed the cable then see if the problem is resolved.

 

Sorry im not much help, im in a similar boat and the support agent wants me to pay £18 for telephone support.

Im using HP instant ink and have only ever used there cartridges so it cant be blamed on third party cartridges. Seems a lot of members here only have one post detailing a problem, get very little to no replies and many problems don't seem to be resolved 😞

What exactly is the error message?  The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve cartridge errors on your Officejet Pro 8710 printer.

 

If the procedure in the document does not resolve the issue there are a few other things to check.  On the front panel touch the ink droplets icon near the top of the home page.  This will open a page with bars for black and each of the color cartridges.  Touch the bar for the cartridge with the issue bring up a status screen for the cartridge.  Is there an error message on this page?  The cartridge status page will show the cartridge number for the inserted cartridge and also a list of cartridge numbers supported.  Is the cartridge number listed as installed on the list of supported cartridges?  

 

Are the cartridges original HP or refill/reman cartridges?
