Hi @Silvertin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're facing cartridge problems with your HP ENVY 5055 All-In-One Printer despite replacing the cartridge with a new, genuine HP cartridge, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take.
Verify Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the cartridges are installed correctly. Check if they are securely snapped into place.
- Remove the cartridges and reinsert them. Make sure you hear a click when they are securely inserted.
Check for Protective Strips:
- Make sure you've removed any protective strips or tapes from the new cartridge. These strips are often present to protect the cartridge during shipping.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth to gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
- Reinsert the cartridges and turn the printer back on.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. Updating the firmware may resolve communication issues.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and resolve many printing problems.
Check Cartridge Expiration:
- Ensure that the cartridges you're using are not expired. Cartridges have an expiration date, and using expired cartridges can lead to issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
