You sent me a black cartridge for my printer as you always do. The thing is, when I installed it, the printer detected it as a used or counterfeit cartridge and won’t allow printing—it gets blocked. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you could send me another cartridge, as I had to buy one on my own.

@luismiguel1, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for bringing this up—it’s definitely frustrating when a brand-new cartridge gets flagged like that. Let’s get this sorted together.
First, just to check—did you see any specific error message pop up on the screen when the cartridge was installed? Something like “used or counterfeit cartridge detected” or a different message?
A couple of quick things to try:
Remove the cartridge, gently wipe the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth (no moisture), and reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place.
Make sure your printer firmware is up to date—HP releases updates that sometimes fix these recognition issues.
If there’s an authentic HP label on the box or cartridge, try scanning it using the HP Smart App to verify it.
Also, could you let me know:
Did the cartridge come directly from HP or through a retailer?
Was the packaging sealed and intact when you received it?
Let me know!
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
