Printer has been working normally throughout the day, suddenly tried to print towards the end of the day and threw an error code 3 'cartridge stalled' issue.

Tried all the steps of clearing the printer and making sure that the tracks are clean. There is nothing stalling it. Tried hard resetting but still throws up the same error.

Upon removing either the colour or black ink cartridge, it will actually work with a single-cartridge mode and prints, so clearly the cartridges are not physically stalled. However, once both colour and black cartridges are installed, then the same code 3 error pops.

I see that you are facing a carriage jam issue with your Printer.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

 

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

 

C) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this video link to troubleshoot further to release the carriage jam.

You might come across this issue, if the firmware is not updated or the printer is running on the old version of firmware or if there is an actual jam in the printer itself.
