Hi @stephenddukes,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To change the printing mode from monochrome to color on an HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer, you can follow these general steps. Please note that the exact steps may vary slightly depending on the operating system and printer driver version you are using.

Open the Print Dialog:

  • Start by opening the document you want to print.
  • Click on "File" in the top-left corner of the application (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader).
  • Select "Print" or "Print Setup" from the dropdown menu. This will open the print dialog.

Select your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer:

  • In the print dialog, choose your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer from the list of available printers.

Access Printer Properties:

  • Look for a button or link that says "Properties," "Printer Properties," or "Preferences." Click on it to access the printer settings.

Navigate to Color Settings:

  • Once you are in the printer properties, find the section related to color settings or print quality.

Set Color Printing:

  • Look for an option that allows you to switch between monochrome (black and white) and color printing. It may be labeled as "Color," "Grayscale," or "Black & White." Select the option for color printing.

Apply Changes and Print:

  • After setting the color printing option, click "OK" or "Apply" to save the changes.

Print your Document:

  • Return to the main print dialog and click "Print" to start printing your document in color.

Please note that the exact steps and labels might vary depending on your operating system (Windows, macOS, etc.) and the version of the printer driver you have installed. If you encounter difficulties, refer to the user manual of your HP Officejet Pro 8600.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
