@starmarket, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are trying to perform a regional reset on the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

There is no "Support Cartridges" window! Your instructions don't work! You all keep saying the same things, it's like you don't even know your own app!

@starmarket

If you are not able to access the region reset window, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for further assistance via a remote session.

Follow the instructions below to reach them:

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.

6)Fill the web-form and proceed further.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes, please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

I guess my device is out of warranty because I don't see those options.

I don't yet speak the language of the place I have moved to, so calling support is challenging to say the least.

Starmarket, what model number is the HP printer? Forget the HP Dumb app. Manually do it yourself, but i need your model #. Don't know very much about apple computers but got to be similar to Microsoft. Tell me if you have a start menu? You need to find a menu on Mac's to your programs. Under programs, go to the model of your printer. For instance (mine is an hp Officejet 8600 that was made in 2012. **bleep** good printer. find the printer under programs, click on the particular model, then click again to open the ink cartridges software. It should give you the ink status levels. On mine, i had to hold ctrl, shift, & right click outside the status page. Not sure what buttons on Mac that is comparable to in windows. It should pop up with a region page with information about serial #s & code information about the Magenta, Cyan, Yellow, & Black. Again, we are getting into an area I am really not good at with using Mac's. You must purchase official HP cartridges for the European area. Almost positive they have to be Z20 's on the cartridge. I spent over 8 hours on support in India. 2 min into conversation, rep said need a new printer. What????????  I have a region problem with my cartridges after you install a firmware update in 2017 locking up my cartridge information. Got to Supervisor, same thing, asked for manager, then got directed to a supposed Hp chat session. Their chat rep said because my printer was out of warranty, I needed to pay a 1$ for support. Like I said 8 hours into this fiasco, I gave him my name, email address, & CC information. Then i got very suspicious & logged in to my bank. Frigging charges were racking up. Asked the so-called manager if he actually was an official Hp support Rep & he answered me no that his friend directed me to his site. made sure I wrote down his name, but could not print off chat support pages because my printer had locked up because of a region problem. I have 2 US hp Reps that are trying to reset the codes. I don't know if they are good on Mac's. After 30+ years of Official  HP computers, printers, cartridge's, I have had it. NO MORE, NEVER, EVER, AGAIN WILL I SUPPORT OR BUY AN HP PRODUCT.  On my page you can see the 2 reps that I am getting tremendous help from. It is taking over a week, but i hope you are patient. I am not buying a new printer when it just needs to be regionalized. Take Care, try to be patient, stay on your blood pressure meds, & stay safe.

Starmarket, I see your screenshot. Your model is the HP342D16. You are so close. whatever commands that Mac has to Windows, in windows you have to hold the ctrl, shift & right click outside (to the right of) the red highlighted ink cartridge Window.   A new region window should appear with the actual codes. if not to the right then click to the left of the other cartridge but again hold crtl, shift & right click. Hope that works.
