HP officejet pro 9018

I changed one ink cartridge with HP Inkstant ink.  Now I get a message to recycle ink and when I click OK it will no disappear.  It will not print unless I connect directly to my printer with USB.  I tried resetting, unplugging, putting cartrige in again.... Still will not print wirelessly and no way to get into home menu on printer

I can still control the printer through the HP smart app, but the message on the display screen will not go a way so I cannot use the control panel on the printer.  So frustrating.  I've tried turning it off and back on. I've tried pulling out the cartridges and replacing them.

Hi @MelodyK, @Eyedr_carl, @NancyDorsey,

I'd like to help!

I understand the printer is stuck on a recycle cartridge message.

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issues persist, reach the HP Instant Ink team(contact info can be found on the home page) in your region for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I was able to solve this problem by going to the control panel in the HP Smart App on my desktop.  Select  Printer settings>Status>Printer Status.  Here you will see the same Persistant message about recycling your cartriges. Click on "OK".

This still didn't work on my printer.  What is another solution?
