@irish2021, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Set for Individual Print Jobs

This method works when printing from any app (Word, PDF viewer, browser, etc.):

Open the document you want to print.

Press Ctrl + P (or click File > Print).

Choose your printer: HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e.

Click Printer Properties or Preferences.

In the Printer Properties window:

Go to the Color or Paper/Quality tab.

Look for an option called Print in Grayscale or Black Ink Only.

Select Black Ink Only or Grayscale.

Click OK to apply settings.

Click Print.

Set Black Ink as Default for All Print Jobs

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e printer.

Select Printing Preferences.

Go to the Color or Paper/Quality tab.

Select Print in Grayscale or Black Ink Only.

Click Apply, then OK.

This will make black-and-white the default for all applications.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
