HP Color LaserJet CP1215

Hi, I need help with cleaning the printer, on any color print besides the test print page, there are yellow smudges on the right side of the page, everywhere I've looked the results say to use the Toolbox but I don't have that software. The Print & Scan doctor doesn't do anything.

@VividVermilion, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Color LaserJet CP1215!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like the yellow toner might be leaking or there could be some toner buildup inside the printer. Since you don’t have the HP Toolbox software, you can try these manual cleaning steps:

1. Check the Yellow Toner Cartridge

  • Remove the yellow toner cartridge and inspect it for leaks or damage.
  • Gently shake it to redistribute the toner evenly.
  • If you see toner powder leaking, consider replacing the cartridge.

2. Clean the Transfer Belt

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the printer cover and locate the transfer belt (it’s the wide, shiny belt under the cartridges).
  • Gently wipe it with a lint-free, dry cloth or a slightly damp, soft cloth. Avoid touching it with bare hands.

3. Clean the Inside of the Printer

  • Use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe any visible toner buildup.
  • A small, soft brush or compressed air can help remove loose toner particles.

Let me know if it helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
