Hi @Devink310,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I  understand your HP printer is only displaying magenta and light magenta while ignoring other colors like yellow and cyan. The issue could be related to the printheads or ink cartridges. Here is a detailed guide to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges for the missing colors (yellow and cyan) are not empty or expired. Look for any steady red or blinking orange lights on the ink system, which indicate cartridge status (e.g., empty or problematic cartridges).

  • Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.

Printhead Status:

  • Verify the status of the printheads. Sometimes problems arise if the printheads are clogged or not aligned properly. Access the printhead section via the printer’s front panel and check for any flashing red lights, which could indicate a faulty printhead.

  • Consider performing a printhead cleaning or alignment operation from the printer’s maintenance options.

Run a Diagnostic Test:

  • Use your printer’s diagnostic tools to print a test page that helps identify issues with print quality. On the HP Designjet printers, you can select 'Utilities,' then 'Test Prints,' then 'Image Quality Print' from the front panel to print a diagnostic page. This can help pinpoint which areas need attention.

Replace Faulty Components:

  • If the diagnostic page reveals persistent issues with specific colors, consider replacing the printheads for the affected colors. Follow the proper procedure for replacing printheads to avoid damage:

    • Open the printhead access door and gently remove the faulty printhead.

    • Insert a new printhead, ensuring it is seated correctly, and run any recommended alignment procedures.

Check for Software and Driver Issues:

  • Sometimes, printer driver settings can affect print quality. Ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date and set for optimal color printing settings.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
