How can I manually adjust the color balance of my print jobs? They keep coming out purple. The yellow works fine. I've done the color calibration, cleaning, etc. I need to know if there's a way to do this through the app or if there's some other software or something that I can download to help me, bc these prints are awful.

Hi @MaxJD406,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with prints that keep coming out with incorrect colors, especially when you've already tried color calibration and cleaning. Let's try to resolve this issue together.

To better understand the problem:

  1. Have you tried printing from different applications or devices to see if the purple tint appears across all print jobs, or is it specific to one type of document or software?
  2. Have you confirmed that the toner cartridges for cyan and magenta are correctly installed and not low or malfunctioning?
  3. Is the color shift more pronounced with certain types of documents (like images, text, or mixed content)?

Here are five troubleshooting steps you can try:

Adjust Color Settings in Printer Preferences: Open the Printer Preferences on your computer (usually found in the printer settings through your computer’s Control Panel or System Preferences). Look for options like Color Management or Advanced Color Settings. Some printers allow you to manually adjust color settings like brightness, contrast, and saturation. See if adjusting these settings helps.

Use the HP Smart App for Custom Color Adjustments: If you're using the HP Smart app, it may allow you to fine-tune color profiles and adjust print quality settings. Check the app for any specific color management options that could help you customize the print output.

Update Printer Drivers and Software: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw. Sometimes outdated drivers can lead to color issues. Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.

Check the Printer's Color Calibration Settings: You mentioned you've done color calibration, but sometimes re-running it or doing a more detailed calibration (if your printer supports it) can resolve issues like this. Check for any advanced calibration options in the printer’s menu via the control panel or HP software.

Replace Toner Cartridges or Check for Defects: Since the yellow color works fine, it may be worth checking the magenta and cyan toner cartridges. If they are low or defective, they can cause color issues like a purple tint. If possible, try replacing the magenta or cyan cartridges or visually inspect them for any problems.

Give these steps a try and see if they help correct the color balance.
