HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw
macOS 12.0 Monterey

I'm actually using Sonoma 14.5 on my Mac desktop. Have had issues with printing the right colors. I design the documents on Canva and have tried printing jpegs, pngs, and PDF's. The jpegs and pngs print ok, but the colors are lighter or darker, depending on the day. The pdf's don't print parts of the document at all. Makes no sense. It doesn't matter what paper type I set it on - I've tried them all. I've run the color calibration and the print quality page, but it tells me nothing - other than giving me a page with colors on it that I have nothing to compare it to. SUPER frustrating. When I call HP they are never helpful. I'm about to throw this though the window. IMG_4918.JPG

Same issue. I have done the cleaning page, calibration and all the other steps that have been suggested by support and other topics. I recently put in all new HP cartridges and this has happened.

When I print, no matter what paper settings the colors are very off, or washed out.

Hi @BHMercer, @azwalter,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with print quality on your Printer.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

Thanks for the reply. The colors are still washed out. I am attaching the original photo and a scan of the printout which accurately reflects the current printing.  The faces are yellow and the colors washed out. 2024-08-24 Scan.jpg20240712_190432.jpg
