Hi @Ancaqc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Verify Print Settings in Adobe:

  • Before printing, open the print dialog in Adobe and ensure “Print in Grayscale” or “Black and White” is selected correctly.
  • Double-check if there are any other color options that might be overriding the grayscale setting.

Set Printer Preferences on MacOS:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and click Options & Supplies.
  • Navigate to Options or Driver tab and ensure grayscale or black & white is set as the default, if applicable.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers for your printer model. Outdated drivers can conflict with software settings.

Check Printer Display Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to settings and ensure the default print settings are set to grayscale if that is your preferred option.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app and ensure print settings are set to grayscale. Sometimes software applications have specific settings that override app choices.

Check Document Settings:

  • Make sure the document in Adobe doesn’t have its own embedded color profile that overrides print dialog settings. In some cases, you might need to adjust settings in Adobe’s color management options.

Testing with Another Document/Application:

  • Try printing a different document or from another application with grayscale settings to rule out issues with the specific file or Adobe application.

Reset Printer to Default Settings:

  • As a last resort, reset your printer to factory settings and try setting the preferences again to see if there are any firmware settings causing conflict.

I hope this helps.
