Hi everyone!

I was printing some documents in my *almost new* printer (bought it on June) and the paper keep getting jammed using the manual tray 1, in the last time the paper got stuck, it made a nasty sound when I pulled it out, after that the printer says "code error 60.02.00" and it makes like a clac clac clac sound when the printer tries to initialize.

I will try to contact HP support tomorrowm but if in the mean time someone has an idea to fix it I would be gratefull.

Thank you!

60.02.00 is a lift motor error in tray 2. I would remove tray 2 and check to make sure there is no visible damage. Install the tray with no paper in it to see what happens, if you do not get the error, then tray loading some paper. Pay close attention to the front left side of the tray where indicator that shows how much paper is left is. I have seen cases where this indicator gets dislodged and causes binding. There should be a nylon "C" shaped part that the metal part of the paper tray fits into. If that C is above or below the metal tray it prevents proper movement. Picture below shows "C" above the metal plate. If it is not set right you need to work it back into position. This may require you to unhook the metal plate from the back of the tray to create some wiggle room.

Hi! thank you so much for your fast reply

I have tried to remove the 2 tray and print something, it now feeds the paper but it gets jammed permanently...it's not allowing any kind of paper to go through from tray 1

Hi sorry to bother you again, after trying to feed paper through tray 1 and all the paper getting jammed, I put the printer upside down and noticed this piece was hanging around , it also seems one of the ends doesn't have the rubber cover, or it should be like that?

thank you

Sounds like something is jammed in the feedpath. As this engine design uses the same paper feed path for both Tray 1 and tray 2, if you remove a jam from tray 1 and miss a bit of paper it will cause problems with both trays. I just realized the picture I posted was for a monochrome 400 series tray not the color 400 series and I apologize if it caused any confusion. I have found that sometimes in order to find a bit of paper it is necessary to remove all cartridges, taking care to set them down carefully to not damage the drum units and cover with a light proof cloth or black garbage bag. then remove the paper tray, and drop the duplex tray and then tip the printer onto one side so that you can see all the feed mechanism and remove any bits of paper you find.
