My Laser Jet Pro MFP M281fdw is printing faded colors.  Green and yellow print fine, but blue is a bit faded and red is really bad.  I'm using genuine hp cartridges and have swapped all color toner cartridges and gone through the troubleshooting steps found online and within the HP Smart app with no help.  Any suggestions?

Print a cleaning page.

Have you performed a calibration?

Please print these two reports:

  1. Diagnostic page
  2. Supplies status page

Scan both pages and upload here, click on the icon "Insert photos", "Set format = Large", original size at least 200 KB.

Kind Regards

I have ran multiple cleaning pages and calibration numerous times.

Hi,

the magenta cartridge is defective!

But you can still try the following:
Shut down the printer via the on/off switch.
Take out the magenta cartridge and shake it intensively (as described in the manual).
Insert the cartridge and switch on the printer again.
Wait until the printer is fully booted, then perform a calibration.
If there is no difference from the first printout, diagnostic page, then claim this cartridge.

The cartridge is still under warranty!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
