The question I'm going to ask was already asked but in Russian, so let me ask you in English.  My printer HP Deskjet all-in-one 3835  suddenly stopped printing color at all.  In printing preferences there is no choice like grayscale, monochrome, or color type of printing.  That choice previously was in printing preferences.  I did everything by the book: full software uninstall, remove related files and directories, restart computer and full reinstall all software which is downloaded today.  nothing happened.   I must say that my printer is working fine, when I'm printing from my cell phone.  All in color.  so as I understand now not only me but few another users of HP printer 3835  having the same problem. Cell phone printing is a temporary solution,  and we waiting your solution for that problem.

Hello,

To address this incident, please follow the following procedure:

1. Uninstall printing software:

  1. Unplug the USB cable at the back of the printer, if necessary.
  2. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  3. Type appwiz.cpl, then OK. The Programs and Features window opens.
  4. Click the right mouse button on HP DeskJet 3830 series Basic Software, then Uninstall and Yes.

    Note: If the software uninstall process does not start or an error displays while uninstalling, download Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed from the Microsoft website, and then try uninstalling again.

  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall of the printer.
  6. Restart the computer.

2. Launch the registry editor:

  1. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  2. Type regedit, then OK. The registry editor opens.
  3. Develop HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, click with the right mouse button on Hewlett-Packard and Delete. (If the PC is HP-branded, develop Hewlett-Packard and remove Digital Imaging)

3. Delete the HP DeskJet 3830 series folder in the way:

  • C:\Program Files\HP
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\HP

4. Rename folder 3 in 3_old in the path below (a restart may be required):

  • C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64.
  • C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86.

NOTE: If the file refuses this action do as follows:

On the keyboard, tap the Windows and R keys simultaneously. The Run window opens.

  • Type net stop spooler, then press OK.
  • Rename the file.
  • Type net start spooler, then tap OK.

5. Start a new printer installation via HP DeskJet 3830 series Full Software and Drivers.

6. Try to print.

 

If you still have problems, please configure a new port as follows (network printers only):

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows logo key and the R key simultaneously. The Run window opens.
  2. Type control printers, then press Enter. The Devices and Printers window opens.
  3. Right-click on your printer icon, then click on Printer properties, click on the Ports tab, and click on Add Port....
  4. Select Standard TCP/IP Port and click New Port....
  5. Click Next, then enter the printer's IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.97) in the Printer Name or IP Address field and click Next.
  6. Once the port is added, click Finish and close all windows.
  7. Try to print.

I assume you didn't read my post carefully. Because actions that you described already has been done and not once. And I really would like to receive some patch file which contain settings and necessary files inside. Let's say, as an update for my soft.

Today I again did everything exactly the same way and in the order as you described. The result is the same. The Paper / Quality page does not contain the choice of monochrome, black and white, or color printing, as it was before. What's happening? What am I supposed to do?

Uninstall all software related to your printer (except HP Smart) as follows:

  1. Unplug the USB cable at the back of the printer, if necessary.
  2. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  3. Type appwiz.cpl, then OK. The Programs and Features window opens.
  4. Click the right mouse button on HP DeskJet 3830 series Basic Software, then Uninstall and Yes.

    Note: If the software uninstall process does not start or an error displays while uninstalling, download Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed from the Microsoft website, and then try uninstalling again.

  5. Repeat step 4 with the following software (The list of software for your printer may be different):
    • Study for the improvement of the HP DeskJet 3830 series product.
    • HP Dropbox Plugin
    • HP EmailSMTP Plugin
    • HP DeskJet 3830 series Aide
    • HP FTP Plugin
    • HP Google Drive Plugin
    • HP OneDrive Plugin
    • HP SharePoint Plugin
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall of the printer.
  7. Restart the computer.
  8. Reinstall the printer with the previously downloaded installation program.
