I recently opened an old OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One printer that I had bought and never used. My old printer stopped working. I installed the HP SmartPrint app on my iMac (Monterey OS 12.5.1), and it seemed to be working well for a couple of weeks. Now I seem to have two problems and cannot find a solution. First, I never get an option to print in color. My default setting is black and white, and I get no options to print in color. Second, when I print a test page or print quality diagnostic page, I get absolutely no magenta showing up (and the yellow is very light, but it is there). This is after I cleaned the print heads, including a level 2 cleaning. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it is frustrating, and I don't want to buy a new color inkjet cartridge if the printer isn't going to give me an option to print in color anyway. (In addition, the HP Support forum doesn't recognize the serial number on my printer, which is legit (I bought it from Best Buy), and it is obviously out of warranty now ... but still should work practically right out of the box.) Any and all advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
