I have an HP6958 OfficeJet printer. My blue HP ink cartridge will no longer work. I installed two new HP cartridges with no success. I cleaned the copper area on the cartridge with a damp cloth, and did the same thing on the electric prongs in the printer. I still cannot get blue ink on a document. I also reset the printer by shutting it down for a minute to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi @KAS48,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already gone through some troubleshooting steps, but there are a few more things you could try.
- Print Head Cleaning: Your printer likely has a built-in utility for cleaning the print heads. This can sometimes resolve issues with ink flow. Check your printer's manual or the HP website for instructions on how to run a print head cleaning cycle.
- Alignment: Sometimes, alignment issues can cause problems with ink distribution. Most printers have an alignment utility that can be accessed through the settings menu. Running an alignment test might help resolve the issue.
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure that the blue ink cartridge is properly inserted and that it has enough ink. Sometimes, cartridges may appear to be installed correctly but are not seated properly, which can cause issues with ink flow.
- Try Another Blue Cartridge: It's possible that the new cartridge you installed is faulty. If you have another blue cartridge available, try installing that one to see if it resolves the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
