Microsoft Windows 11

Printer was printing faint horizontal yellow lines across page. I took out cartridges and drum, cleaned them and tried printing some blank pages to clear it. It has gotten worse! Now all the colours are filling the pages and each page that prints, is showing more ink than the previous.

The printer is more than a year old but not used very often so the drum/cartridges shouldn’t need replaced.

When removing the cartridges, there did seem to be some excess ink powder on the cartridges, not sure why or why it happened even after I cleaned it all off.

This can happens when you use non-original or refilled toner cartridges. Are you using those or genuine HP?

The toner cartridges that are in the printer, and the drum, are the original ones that came with the printer. They haven’t been used very much so there has not been a need to change them.
