HP Officejet 6960 recently changed from another 6960 that was scrapped because of failure to print true colours, text and had smears DESPITE following all suggested cleaner/maintenance. Replacement printer worked well for first 40 prints then suddenly started to repeat same problems as before with smears and not printing true colours - eg red is pink.
New ink - all supplied by HP under ink program - all updates-maintenance done and yet printer still printing poorly.
I am currently having log in problems with Microsoft following an update a few weeks ago and unable to verify me as user (don't use Hotmail so unable to supply last 3 email addresses (???)). Any help please?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your printer not printing in colour. I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
- Clean the printhead
- Check the estimated ink levels

Problem was brand new yellow ink cartridge received under ink program. All tests showed cartridge to be fine - except all colour prints lacked yellow; when changed to another new yellow ink cartridge all works well.
