HP OfficeJet 8010 Series
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently switched my ink cartridge for the first time, now whenever i try to print from my computer it only prints completely blank paper. It does this regardless of being a Microsoft Word doc, Notepad app, chome screen printout, nothing works.

If I got to my computer settings, and printer set up, when i print a "test" sheet it too comes out blank.

I know the cartridge works because the ONLY time things print is if i do a "test" print from my physical printer.

I feel like i tried EVERYTHING. Unplugging for 5 minutes, powering off and on, disconnecting from wifi, reconnecting to wifi and manually entering the wifi password on the printer, setting it as my default printer etc etc.

Hi @Catherine8796,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Verify Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the printer and check if the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Make sure they are seated properly and the protective tape has been removed.

Printhead Cleaning:

  • Use the printer's control panel to perform a printhead cleaning. This can help clear any blockages that might be causing the issue.
  • Navigate to the printer's settings menu and look for the option related to maintenance or cleaning.

Align Printhead:

  • From the printer's control panel, run the printhead alignment test to ensure the printheads are properly aligned.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Verify that the ink cartridges are not empty or defective. Sometimes new cartridges can be faulty.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that the printer drivers on your computer are up to date. Visit the HP Support page to download the latest drivers for your printer compatible with Windows 11.

Print Settings:

  • Check your print settings to ensure that the print mode is set to "Normal" or "Best". Avoid using settings like "Draft" which may cause printing issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on.

Try Another Cartridge:

  • If you have another cartridge available, try installing it to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the cartridge itself.

I hope this helps.
