I use this printer specifically for printing checks. Cartridges are filled magnetically compliant ink so the banks can read the check account, routing numbers, and whatever other misc items they need.  I purchase the cartridges from VersaInk, as they are the only company that sells them. (HP does not) In years past there have been no issues but the last 61ms cartridge I replaced will not be recognized.  This is the error message I get:

HP - Black

The cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured.

Please refer to Printer Help.

Printer help did not address the issue. How do I "configure" the printer to recognize the cartridge?

There is nothing to configure, try a different ink cartridge, you can use an empty one if you have one.
