Office Pro 8035
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I have cleaned and aligned the printhead. All ink cartridges are full or nearly full. There are no error messages. When I try to use the flatbed to copy a document, the document comes out 'pink'. This occurs even after selecting "print black only" and only when I use the 'copy' function on the printer.

If I use my phone or my computer to print, I am able to print in 'black ink only' with the desired outcome.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting copy quality issues, I am glad to assist you.

Follow these steps to fix the issue.

Clean a flatbed scanner

Clean the scanner glass and underside of the scanner lid with a soft, lint-free cloth sprayed with glass cleaner.

  1. Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord.

  2. Lift the scanner lid.

  3. Spray a soft, lint-free cloth with glass cleaner, and then wipe the scanner glass, glass strip (if present), the white backing under the scanner lid, and the white strip under the lid (if present) until clean, dry, and streak-free.

  4. Clean the scanner glass and under the lid, and any glass or white strips (if present)

  5. Reconnect the power cord, turn on the printer, and then close the scanner lid completely.

Change copy settings to improve print quality

Adjust color, contrast, and enhancement settings from the printer control panel to improve copy quality.

  1. On the printer control panel, touch Copy, Copy Document, or Copy Photo.

  2. Touch Settings or the Gear icon  to open the copy job options.

  3. Scroll to access and change the following copy settings.

    • Paper Type: Select the type of plain or photo paper for your copies.

    • Quality: Select an available copy quality level.

    • Lighter/Darker or Contrast: If the original is faded or too saturated, make the copy lighter or darker.

    • Optimize or Enhancements: Select the type of item you are copying to apply automated print quality improvements, such as sharpening text and image edges or improving faded colors in photos.

    • HP Copy Fix: Let the printer automatically improve copy quality and adjust skewing.

  4. Select Save Current Settings or Set as New Defaults to retain the settings for future copy jobs.

Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  1. If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.

  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  4. Wait 60 seconds.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  6. Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
