Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Today my HP Office Pro 8600 displayed a error Message that I had a counterfeit Ink cartridge (Black 950XL) installed it refused to print and when it did i printed text (letters single file)  down the left hand side of the page.  The cartridge was purchased at Walmart (on 9/20/21) in a double pack along with  951 ink cartridges.  I still have the box

it came in and it has printed on the side of the Cartridge, " Replaces HP950XL  (cn045an) and A picture of a power button and (onn)". The only other thing it's says is black.

On the opposite side it has two small stickers, One says" for Cartridge support " Visit us online at: www. Cartridge-Support.com. The other sticker is like a price tag displaying the numbers 8138358 and below that 6458783.The box it came in is clearly marked as a HP product container and was locked in a display case at the local Walmart. we have the original receipt somewhere but have yet to find it. I do know that this was a expensive purchase of Ink.

I need to use my printer and this ink cartridge, but do not want text going down the left side of my documents. I don't know  exactly what to do, or who to speak to, even how to prove this was a honest purchase. I have been using this cartridge for months now trouble free until to day.  I could use a little help solving this problem. Thank you

Hi @Gaspe,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you are receiving a counterfeit cartridge error.

Could you share an image of the cartridges you are using with the cartridge number facing the camera?

Let me know!

I will take Pictures of the cartridge, and the others that came in the HP Ink Pack.  I use a desk top and am not completely computer savvy.  as soon as I get the pictures onto my desktop I will sendm them on.

Well the packaging certainly looks genuine. Any chance you could post a picture of the label on the side of the cartridge? The website you state was on the package is actually for a 3rd party manufacturer/remanufacturer.

I sent the picture of the Cartridges' but received a e-mail that HP that HP rejected the images. It appears that I had some information on sticky notes that appeared in the original picture. I have edited the photo of both sides as you requested .

my wife mistakenly replaced the ink Cartiridge and threw away the original faulty. Thank you IMG_20220715_150146.jpgIMG_20220715_150151.jpgIMG_20220715_150151.jpgCartiridge
