HP will NOT allow you to use ink from Office Depot which is ten times better in price. So you are forced to use HP. My problem today is I loaded a BRAND NEW Black ink cartridge. Yes I know how to load it, take it from the box, remove the plastic, remove the orange pop off arm, snap it in the slot and clip it in place. I put my document on the glass, hit print, 5 pages, continue in Black. The first page printed in BLACK just fine. The next 4 printed in RED!! So I'm requesting, without argument, a new BLACK 902XL Cartridge so that I can finish my work I need printed. It's NOT convenient for me to drive to Office Depot or Walmart, 45 minutes away from me to correct your defaulted product. And NOT convenient for me to order it online and wait for it to arrive and then wait for you to reimburse me. Figure my problem out. Tick Tock....

Hi @PissedRenee,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating this situation must be, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I want to clarify that HP does not prevent you from using third-party ink cartridges. However, some printers have security settings that require genuine HP cartridges for optimal performance.
Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:
Remove & Reinsert the Cartridge:
Turn off your printer and unplug it for 2-3 minutes.
Remove the black ink cartridge, wait for a moment, and reinsert it properly.
Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check Ink Levels & Cartridge Health:
On your printer’s touchscreen, navigate to Setup > Ink Levels to see if the black ink is being detected correctly.
Print a Test Page:
Print a nozzle check or test page by going to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report to see if the black ink prints correctly.
Clean the Printhead:
If the issue persists, try cleaning the printhead by going to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead and following the on-screen instructions.
If the problem continues, let me know, and I'll guide you further. 💙
I hope this helps.
