HI @Sonworley,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer recognizes that the Cyan ink cartridge is full but does not print Cyan ink, here’s a structured approach to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Verify Cartridge Installation
- Proper Installation: Ensure the Cyan ink cartridge is properly installed. Remove it and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place securely.
2. Check Ink Levels
- Ink Levels: Double-check the ink levels using the printer’s display or the HP Smart app. Ensure the printer software confirms the Cyan cartridge is full.
3. Run Printhead Cleaning
- Printhead Cleaning: Perform a printhead cleaning using your printer’s maintenance menu. This helps clear any clogs or blockages in the printhead nozzles.
- For HP printers, you can usually find this option in the HP Smart app or printer’s control panel under Tools or Maintenance.
4. Perform Printhead Alignment
- Printhead Alignment: After cleaning, run a printhead alignment process to ensure proper ink placement. This can often be done through the printer’s settings or the HP Smart app.
5. Check for Blockages
- Nozzle Check: Print a nozzle check page to see if the Cyan ink is coming through. This diagnostic page will show if there are any missing colors or misaligned nozzles.
6. Inspect the Ink Cartridge
- Ink Cartridge: Examine the Cyan ink cartridge for any protective tape or seals that might still be in place. Sometimes, a small piece of tape can prevent ink from flowing.
7. Clean the Printhead
- Manual Cleaning: If the automatic cleaning doesn’t work, consider manually cleaning the printhead. Turn off the printer and carefully clean the printhead with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
- Caution: Ensure the printer is off and unplugged before attempting any manual cleaning to avoid damage.
8. Check for Firmware Updates
- Update Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes firmware updates can fix issues related to ink and printhead functions.
9. Reset Printer
- Reset Printer: Perform a factory reset of the printer if none of the above steps resolve the issue. This can sometimes fix underlying software problems affecting printing.
10. Replace Cartridge
- Try a New Cartridge: If possible, try using a different Cyan ink cartridge. Even if the cartridge is new, it might be defective
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
