Hello,

I have been unable to successfully troubleshoot my printers issue. Black & Yellow are working fine, but Cyan and Magenta will not show up.

so far I have  I have:

  • reset the printer to factory defaults.
  • updated the firmware
  • replaced the ink cartridges
  • cleaned the print heads - 6 times
  • cleaned the contacts on the print head and cartridge
  • verified the cartridge vent is not blocked on the Cyan and Magenta.
  • performed 2 hard resets

In addition to not seeing Cyan and Magenta on the test page, I cannot make a photocopy of a scanned color document. It just comes out discolored with everything looking yellow.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

@ChesterCarlson, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand the printer is not printing in Cyan and Magenta. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

If you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues, and also replaced the ink cartridges, yet the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer.
