I have an HP OfficeJet 6962 All in One printer. We just changed all the inks and now the cyan no longer prints, not even faintly. Bought another new cyan ink, still no printing cyan. Tried cleaning the print head, ran printer status reports, unplugging/replugging- still no cyan. Any suggestions? After dropping $135 on ink, I would prefer to have this printer work (not replace it).

Hi @Ttime53

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check the Cartridge and Contacts:

  • Remove the cyan cartridge from the printer and inspect it for any visible damage.
  • Make sure the protective tape has been completely removed from the contacts.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the printhead by lifting the latch that holds it in place.
  • Clean the printhead’s electrical contacts using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Let the printhead dry completely before reinserting it.

Perform a Printhead Alignment:

  • Reinsert the printhead and secure the latch.
  • Close the ink cartridge access door and initiate a printhead alignment from the printer's control panel.

Automated Tools:

  • Navigate to your printer's menu and use the automated tool for cleaning printheads. This can be found under the "Tools" or "Maintenance" section.
  • Run the printhead cleaning cycle multiple times if needed to clear any blockages.

Update Printer Firmware:

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

Manual Printhead Cleaning:

  • If automated tools do not resolve the issue, consider manually cleaning the printhead following the steps similar to the detailed cleaning described in the HP Latex Technical - How to Reclaim Printheads.
  • Using a distilled water soak and blot technique on the printhead might help.

I hope this helps.
