Printer error message that there is a damaged ink cartridge YELLOW and that it needs to be replaced. I am unable to print and am getting no where with HP to get a replacement cartridge because the warranty on my printer is expired. The warranty on my ink cartridge is not and THAT is where the issue is. It's brand new. Put the yellow cartridge in, printed once, next time I had to print, I get that error message. I have tried to resolve using all of the data on HP's website, but it is not working. I need the replacement cartridge, how do I go about getting that?

Hi @flangequeen,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your printer that has an ink cartridge error.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.
Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.
A) Perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

@Irwin6,
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, the matter did not resolve at all. I have tried your resolution twice, to no avail. I am still getting the damaged cartridge message for the yellow cartridge. I followed the links as well and unfortunately, neither resolved the matter either.
On the troubleshoot link, it did state that if the warranty ends date on the cartridge was not expired, that I was eligible for a replacement. The warranty end date is not expired, however trying to request the eligible replacement cartridge is not working because the printer warranty date is expired. Could you please help me with a replacement yellow cartridge?
