I have a HP Officejet 4610 printer which I have had for quite a long time and I must say it is the best printer I have ever used. Unfortunately, for the first time it has let me down by failing to print on command. The display tells me that one or more cartridges have been damaged and I should remove them and replace them. I checked the various cartridge levels and found the yellow very low. I replaced this but the problem remains. It also shows symbols of the four colours (M, C, and K). It doesn't say if these are the serviceable ones or the damaged ones.
My initial question is how could a very simple cartridge be damaged in situ and what caused the damage in the first place.
I seek the help from anyone who may know about this problem and how to fix it.
