Does anyone have a way to get a hold of HP support that's actually helpful? My ink cartridge is printing blank pages. I've tried all the troubleshooting and ended up replacing the cartridge. The new cartridge works so obviously the old one is defective. I purchased it through Amazon and was told to contact HP support, which we all know is a joke. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Since your new cartridge is working fine, it’s clear that the previous one was defective. Typically, ink cartridges purchased through Amazon are covered by Amazon’s return policy if they were sold and shipped by Amazon. However, if the seller directed you to HP, here’s what you can do:

 

1. Check Amazon’s Return Policy:

 

  • If the cartridge was sold by Amazon (not a third-party seller), log into your Amazon account, go to Orders, and check if the return window is still open.
  • If eligible, you should be able to request a return or replacement directly from Amazon.

 

2. HP’s Ink Cartridge Warranty:

 

  • HP cartridges have a limited warranty against defects. If Amazon won’t replace it, you can contact HP Support for a warranty claim.
  • Check the warranty date on the cartridge:
    • Find the expiration date (printed on the cartridge or packaging).
    • If it’s within the warranty period, HP should replace it.

 

3. Contacting HP Support (Best Approach):

 

To reach HP Support, follow these steps:

  1. Go to HP Customer Support.
  2. Select Printers > HP OfficeJet 5258.
  3. Choose "Cartridge issues" as the topic.
  4. Follow the prompts to chat, call, or request a callback.
