Hello,
My HP DeskJet 3070A stopped printing black when I tried to use a recycled cartridge (no more HP genuine black cartridge available when required).
I replaced this recycled cartridge by a HP genuine black cartridge as soon as it was available but it didn't solve the issue.
Black copy from scan is no longer working: page keeps white.
No printer error message.
Nothing wrong reported by HP Scan Doctor.
I did all the documented troubleshooting steps including printhead cleaning without success.
It looks as if the printer had locked out the black color.
Can anyone help me at solving this issue.
Thx a lot.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
- Do you've another set of inks with you?
If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure. Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thx a lot for your help: I really appreciate it.
Yes, I confirm I did all the steps detailed in document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and this issue persits.
I have 2 questions:
- Can it be a "firmware lock-out" because we had to use a recycled cartridge (no more HP genuine black cartridge available) ?
- If it is an hardware failure, is there a way to know which part: can it be from the HP-Logic-MotherBoard CQ163-8001-CQ163-60109 ?
Unfortunately, my Printer is too old to address the HP support.
Thx a lot for advise.

Thank you for posting back.
To get the answer to this question, it's not firmware related issue that is causing ink blacking and it's not possible to replace the parts.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
