Product: HP DeskJet 3634
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I need a regional US reset code (German printer, now in US) for DeskJet 3634. It is not functional outside the region / country purchased (bought in Germany) due to non-functional and locked "smart" cartridges. After a couple of years of very light use, if you move (and take your precious printer with you to another country) you have a beautiful and expensive piece of non-functional plastic. Prepare to waste your time... Well, you can still use it as a scanner or hit someone in the head with it. You can take it to an open field just like those three guys in the movie "Office Space" and hit the printer with your feet, baseball bats, anything... cursing loudly: PIECE OF JUNK!!! But you cannot print anything with it. This is so upsetting that I decided not to buy anything from HP ever again and to advise my friends not to, to youtube about it, to blog about it and to tell you all here how frustrating this is. Yes, I tried customer service twice and no help - out of warranty... blah blah. I tried "troubleshooting" (there is no real trouble, HP blocked me from printing on purpose); I tried "virtual agent", what a farse of pre-programmed answers - this takes you to some first grader potential issues, like, unplug and plug again your printer.... Nothing works, except put it in the garbage bin and buy a new printer but not HP. What a shame. Code for reset the country? You have to pay for it, I guess. I'll only pay for a different brand printer at this point.

In this case, you can use warranty for Ink Cartridges when the printer itself it out of warranty when use the following Guide

Does anyone know an actual phone number for the US customer service?

It's not on their website. Contact us takes you to serial number; if expired, they don't want to talk to you.

 

Anyone knows the number?
