Hi, I ran out of my first ink that was in the printer when I purchased it.  Have now put in my new cartridges and prints great except very heavy with the ink so wanted to know can I change settings to make it print lighter and save using so much ink?

Have tried searching etc but given up so any help/advice greatly appreciated, thank you.

Kind regards Kim

Hi @kpip,

I'd like to help!

You can change the print quality firm best to draft to save ink

Change the print settings -

  1. In the software application you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.

    The Print window opens.

  2. Open the Properties dialog box.

Depending on the software application, the button might be Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.

  3. Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:

    • Print Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality. These options typically include Best, Normal, and Draft modes.

  4. After selecting the print settings, click OK to apply the settings, and then click Print.

Try to print.

Note -

Print quality: Measured in print resolution dots per inch (DPI). Higher DPI produces clearer and more detailed prints, but slows print speed and may use more ink or toner. See printer specifications for print speeds (measured in pages-per-minute).

  • Draft: Lowest DPI typically used when ink cartridge levels are low or when high-quality prints are not needed

  • Normal or Everyday: Default quality setting suitable for most print jobs

  • Best: Better DPI than Normal

Meanwhile, refer to -Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
